I started with drawing up some sketches of the different baits that I wanted to try designing basing them off things that would be found near bodies of water. I also tried to make my own variations of baits that I have used before that are already tried and true.
The next part of my process was to start designing 3D models based on the sketches that I had drawn up. I made some creative decisions throughout the process to make them more streamlined giving a pleasant visual appeal. Most of these projects were done using Solidworks.
The next step in my process to mold my own fishing lures was to design molds that I could inject either silicone into or melted down plastic to form the plastic lures. This was only for the models that required soft plastic pouring. For the winged fluke I have yet to design a mold however it is in the works.
